Thunder Brigade Mission Statement

Music and the performing arts connect people and cultures through a common language that crosses all social barriers. The activities provided at Thunder Brigade help build discipline, character and self-confidence. It is through these activities that our members go on to experience greater accomplishments in life.

Participation with Thunder Brigade positively affects the lives of our members through a commitment to performance excellence and character education while producing and performing exciting music and visual productions for audiences everywhere.

Thunder Brigade offers participants from ages 14 and up high quality educational and performance experiences in the areas of instrumental music, color guard and dance performance.

Founded in 2012 and beginning as a parade drumline in 2013, the program's goal is to develop a performance based regional community through physically, emotionally, and socially challenging activities while instilling the values of hard work, dedication, and commitment to team based endeavors.

Since 2013, over 200 people have participated in our programs, and many have gone on to successfully perform in university music programs and drum corps including but not limited to: The University of Maryland, Towson University, Stevenson University, George Mason University, Carolina Crown, The Cadets, Cadets2, Crossmen, Reading Buccaneers, and Jersey Surf.

Entirely funded by participation fees from performing members and community support, Thunder Brigade is guided by a unified effort from the director, highly qualified education team and volunteer parents. We work closely with our performing members to create and maintain a proud and responsible organization. Instruments, instruction, and costumes are provided to our members through their fees and organizational fundraising efforts.
